HCAR River Clean Up in Todd

Several members of the High Country Association of Realtors®, and some of its affiliates, recently participated in a River Clean Up in Todd. The event was organized by the High Country Association of Realtors® and RiverGirl Fishing Company. It was held Tuesday, Aug. 1. The trailer load represented all of the materials removed from local waters.


The twitter showcase of #wearewatauga

The High Country is home to some great community public schools, especially in Watauga County. The system, comprised of eight K-8 elementary schools and a high school, annually scores well in the NC School Performance Grades. It also embraces the power of social media, with the hashtag #wearewatauga used by teachers and students to show off the educational practices employed throughout the community.

Realtors give back with Green Valley playground

The High Country Association of Realtors, working with Homes4NC and Habitat for Humanity, coordinated a two-day project building a new playground in the Greenwood Community near Green Valley School. More than two dozen volunteers worked together Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, to install new equipment and a picnic shelter.

Realtors to build new Green Valley playground

Next week the High Country Association of Realtors will be working with Habitat for Humanity to build a new playground in Green Valley community. The goal is to complete the project by May 8.

Pam Vines, president of the HCAR, and Laurie Phillips, executive director of the HCAR, both discussed the project recently on the Mountain Television Network. Other topics included the mission of the HCAR and its commitment to the High Country area.
